Early works are now 100% complete. We had a delay due to the tender being extended from the 2nd December to 12th December to enable subcontractors more time to price items for tenderers.

The building contractor AJ Homes received possession of site on the 28th April 2017.

The major construction works are now under way with the first concrete pour completed. The first stages scheduled for completion are the pumproom and the earthworks for the billabong pool. Billabong pool is formed and concrete poured.

Welcome to the first Mission Beach Aquatic Facility Project Update. As we move into the main construction phase of the project, these very brief project updates will be issued at regular intervals to keep you up to date with what's happening and when.

    · The tender period for the Principal Contractor for the project has been extended with the contract now expected to be awarded at the Local Government meeting in January 2017. The extension will give contractors submitting a tender more time to work with subcontractors to ensure proposals submitted provide the best value for money possible.

    · Main construction works will begin in early 2017.

    · Early works are well underway with the placement of gabions for the retaining wall on the oval side of the driveway and installation of the Ergon pad still to be completed.
